This website is made as a digital refuge to show off my creative works and video gaming experiences. About two decades ago, my adventures in the worldwide web started on the last months of the Nintendo N-Sider Forum message boards and I became increasingly hooked on this addictively wonderful, unpredictable multiverse that is "The Internet".
I've been on several message board communities and online games in my time, and used more online aliases than I can remember. I've meet a lot of interesting people in those places, too. It makes me wonder how they're all doing nowadays years later.
...And then things changed from the beginning of the 2010s. Facebook was getting more mainstream and my family and I registered there. Nothing wrong with that, but as the years progress, the concept of the "online forum" is in deep decline. Everyone has been going on to Facebook, Twitter, etcetera. As social media starts to take over the world and our culture, the net has become more homogenized and less unique.
...And it gets even worse. Forced, overused memes. Negative content. Political propaganda. No original ideas or thoughts. Even the world's governments are trying to go as far as to police quoting the Bible. I've gotten sick of it, so I feel the need to get away from it while still desiring to express my God-given individuality, somehow.
I don't remember how I first heard of Neocites, but I do understand it's one of the last few places online left for true expressionism in the digital age. I'm not an expert on HTML, but slowly learning, one step at a time, I've built my new online home.
...Like escaping a city full of dangerous, morally degenerate people, toward a dense forest in a rural area... a bunny digs himself a burrow to rest in... only to come out when instinctively needed...
While you may have came here through Facebook, YouTube, X, etc., I will not link back to my profiles on those sites here. The purpose of this CyberBurrow is to remind myself and my visitors of a more simple web experience in a more controlled environment, without the risk of bullying; no comment sections or anything of the sort are present here.
I hope you enjoy my hospitality! 🐇
